The story of this restaurant on the Novotného lávka quay is a dramatic one: barely two years after opening, it was literally submerged by the waters of the Vltava during Prague’s great flood of 2002. Only the upper part of the building escaped the flood. Sanjiv Suri, the owner, let the restaurant dry out, then saw the disaster as an invitation to completely renovate. Today, Mlýnec (Little Mill) serves dishes that combine Czech tradition and world cuisine: you can enjoy grilled Přeštice pork chop, duck leg confit with poppy pasta, veal filet mignon, Angus beef t-bone steak or Atlantic mackerel with lemon sauce. We particularly recommend Mlýnec’s desserts, including a surprising black garlic and vanilla ice cream. And if you’d like to enjoy Mlýnec’s cuisine at the weekend, there’s always brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
