Highlights

  • Attend a concert at the magnificent Spanish Synagogue in Prague.

  • Don’t miss the most famous melodies of world classical music against a unique historical backdrop.

Main description

The Spanish Synagogue lies in the heart of Prague’s Jewish Quarter and is noted for its unique architecture, which blends Arabian and Andalusian influences. The whole building is profusely decorated with Arabesque patterns, and the large hall, glittering with gold, adds a fairy-tale atmosphere to a concert.

The Hallelujah concert takes you on a trip back in time: from the most famous melodies in the classical repertoire to catchy modern numbers. The programme also includes traditional Jewish songs, both those played at celebrations as well as pieces full of emotion.

George Frederick Handel: Let the Bright Seraphim

Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy: Elijah – “Hear ye, Israel!”

Pietro Mascagni: Intermezzo sinfonico

Sergei Rachmaninov: Vocalise

Gustav Mahler: Des Knaben Wuderhorn

Giacomo Puccini: La Bohème – Quando me’n vo’ (Musetta’s Waltz)

Jerry Bock: Fidler on the Roof – Medley

Emmerich Kalman: Heia, Heia, in den Bergen

Leonard Bernstein: West Side Story

Leonard Cohen: Hallelujah

Queen: Bohemian Rhapsody

Prayer: Avinu Malkenu
