Main description

This activity is suitable for sporty types at all levels. The trip starts at the Kayak Beach Bar – a multipurpose floating bar with a volleyball court, situated very close to the railway bridge below the Vyšehrad rock. Before you set off, an experienced English-speaking instructor will show you how to use the kayak, offer some dos and don’ts of sailing safety, and advise you what to do in case of an accident. The instructor will be with you throughout the trip on the River Vltava.

During the trip, Prague’s main sights will be within easy reach, especially so at Vyšehrad, if you take the wonderful opportunity to get close to the rock. During the trip, the instructor will let you go at your own pace and take your own course, and will point out fascinating facts. You’ll learn about Prague sights, such as the unique cubist villas built just before WW1, the neoclassical Podolí Waterworks, the Dancing House, the National Theatre, Charles Bridge and Prague Castle. You’ll also find out about canoeing and boating life in Prague.

We set sail come rain or shine. But if it’s cold, your life jacket and gloves, issued free of charge, will keep chills at bay. If it rains, your instructor will provide a rain jacket.

Whatever the weather, you can be sure that the beauty of historic Prague as seen from a kayak will take your breath away.

Before you go

• You should wear comfortable sportswear for the trip. In particular, your footwear, which could get wet, should be sturdy.

• Kayak Beach Bar has a small changing room, which you can use before the trip. The changing room also has lockers for your belongings. There are no showers.

• In winter and in bad weather you will receive gloves and a rain jacket.

• This activity is for persons aged 15 and over.

• We recommend booking the kayak trip at least 10 days in advance.

• The activity is also possible for larger groups of up to 25 people (kayak + canoe). Contact us for reservations!
